Royal Academy of Arts
I was responsible for the creation and maintenance of the first Royal Academy (RA) website. After two years in this full-time role, I initiated and led a strategic rethink for the site which led to a radical overhaul and redesign.
This role included many different facets:
- Regular creation of new sections for each new exhibition
- Repurposing articles from the RA's acclaimed exhibition catalogues for web use: required sensitive and intelligent re-writing to cut length without losing the argument of the pieces
- Re-writing copy solicited from RA specialists for accuracy, clarity and consistency with the RA's brand identity
- Implementation of a low-cost e-commerce section
- Creation of a steering committee to guide and shape the strategy for redesigning the RA site
- Coordination of an exploratory group to guide, design and develop the RA Intranet
